The 2019 AIMS General Assembly was held during the SportAccord Convention on the Gold Coast and many important topics took place.
There was a full agenda with many important topics, presentations and AIMS continued role as one of the IOC and GAISF recognized IF umbrella bodies. 2018 was an important year for AIMS as 4 sports received provisional IOC recognition. Namely, IFI, FILa, WAKO and FIAS.
AIMS will continue to work closely with the IOC and GAISF and in cooperation with ASOIF, AWIF and ARISF to benefit each individual member federation.
AIMS president, Stephan Fox, had the honour to welcome many dignities such as the 8th UN General Secretary, Ban Ki-moon, WADA President, Sir Craig Reedie, Sports Department Senior Manager, Andrew Hoffer and many others to the Congress.

The IOC made a detailed presentation for the cooperation and future recognition of the individual IFs. WADA outgoing president, Sir Craig Reedie, highlighted the close cooperation between WADA and AIMS over the years. The AIMS General Secretary, Gerhard Zimmermann, gave a detailed report and the AIMS Congress

also approved the decisions of the executive council for the continued United Through Sports initiative and also for a further term of Stephan Fox as AIMS President.
