It was three years ago that our former president, International Olympic Committee member and FIBA secretary general, Patrick Baumann suddenly passed away.
Vision with action makes a powerful reality. Patrick was a true visionary, a leader and a friend. Patrick believed in the youth. The youth being the hope for all our future and he gave that next generation so many reasons to dream and to hope. Patrick worked tirelessly for the Olympic family as the secretary general of FIBA.
FIBA lost a leader and an advocate and will always be remembered for his vision putting 3×3 basketball from the streets into the Olympics.
For me Patrick was someone who both “stands in and stands out”. Above all he was a friend and friends are the family we choose. His work and his vision live on in many of us and in many of our projects.
Our love always goes out to his beautiful family.
Things end but memories last forever.
