An important meeting took place at the Olympic House on the shores of Lake Geneva.

AIMS which is an official IOC recognised umbrella organisation which is the entry point into the Olympic family and for which sports and IFs aim for IOC recognition. AIMS and the IOC have a strong collaboration.

The meeting was opened by IOC Board member a GAISF/SportAccord President Ivo Ferriani outlined the importance of AIMS within the Olympic family, the synergy towards the development of the individual sports towards IOC recognition but also AIMS as an IF umbrella organisation.

AIMS President Stephan Fox thanked the IOC, President Bach and the sports department under the leadership of Mr. Kit McConnell for all their support in our common interest and putting the athletes in the centre. He further thanked the IOC for recognising six of the AIMS members towards IOC recognition.

Mr. Kit McConnell, IOC sports director welcomed the AIMS family into the Olympic House and thanked the AIMS council and AIMS family.

Kit McConnell made a presentation to the AIMS members on the pathway for the AIMS members towards IOC recognition and the  important resources that the IOC is providing while also discussing the recognition process in becoming an AIMS member, working closely with the IOC and the other three IF umbrella organisations.

AIMS thanked the IOC and also the IOC sports department Kit McConnell, Irina Gladkikh, Andrew Parsons, Celine Moyat Pérez and Emilia Schiliuk.

The meeting then continued with many other important agenda points.

The MoU between AIMS and the IOC was signed in 2016 after AIMS received full recognition by the IOC.
