The 141st session, the annual general meeting of the members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was held in the vibrant city of Mumbai. Known as the “City of Dreams” and formerly as Bombay. The opening was graced by the presence of IOC President Thomas Bach, along with India’s Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, and IOC member from India, Mrs. Nita Ambani.

During the inaugural session, Prime Minister Modi delivered an emotionally charged speech, emphasizing the deep-rooted connection of how sports and culture are woven into the vey fabric of Indian society.

President Bach echoed the sentiments expressed by Prime Minister Modi, underlining that his presence here today is a testimony to the growing importance of Olympic sport in India.

A noteworthy announcement made during the event was the establishment of an IOC Esports commission, tasked with exploring the potential integration of Olympic Esport games.

The International Association of Recognized Sports (AIMS) was represented at the IOC Session by Stephan Fox, who attended as an invited guest.
