Torino 2025 FISU Winter Games officially commenced on January 13, 2025, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. Student-athletes from 54 nations proudly represented their countries during a spectacular opening ceremony that featured contemporary art and music performances.
From January 13 to 23, six municipalities in the Piedmont region are hosting competitions in 11 sports: alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, ski orienteering, ski mountaineering, ice hockey, figure skating, short track speed skating, and curling. The specific venues include Bardonecchia, Pragelato, Pinerolo, Torre Pellice, Sestriere, and Turin.
2025 edition of the Games also mark the first time that para-athletes are participating in para-sport events alongside existing able-bodied events, reflecting FISU’s commitment to inclusiveness and social sustainability.
