The Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS) congratulates the International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) and its partners for the successful organization of the Sepaktakraw World Cup 2025, held from 20 to 25 March in Patna, Bihar, India.
This historic event marked the first time the state of Bihar hosted an international Sepaktakraw competition, welcoming over 300 athletes from 20 countries. Competitions across Men’s and Women’s Quad, Double, Regu, and the exciting Mixed Quad categories captivated spectators, highlighting the dynamic and acrobatic nature of Sepaktakraw.
To meet international standards, the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Kankarbagh underwent major upgrades, resulting in world-class facilities that earned praise from national and international delegations. This infrastructure development aligns with India’s broader commitment to promoting sport through initiatives such as Khelo India.

Beyond the sporting competition, the World Cup fostered cultural exchange and economic growth. Visitors experienced the rich heritage of Bihar through traditional performances, food festivals, and cultural programs, creating a festive and inclusive atmosphere.
ISTAF Secretary-General Datuk Abdul Halim Kader commended the event’s outstanding organization, stating:
“Bihar has set a new benchmark for excellence in international sports hosting. The passion, precision, and professionalism displayed here show that the future of Sepaktakraw in India—and indeed globally—is brighter than ever.”
The success of the Sepaktakraw World Cup 2025 is a testament to the growing reach of AIMS Members worldwide, demonstrating how sport can unite communities, inspire youth, and drive positive change.
