The SportAccord 2024 Convention in Birmingham witnessed a remarkable gathering of representatives from more than 70 International Federations at the joint ARISF-AIMS Welcome Dinner. Held in grandeur, the event brought together esteemed figures from the world of sports, including dignitaries such as IOC President Thomas Bach, IOC Vice President Juan Antonio Samaranch, IOC Director General Christophe De Kepper, and IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell.

Among the distinguished guests were also current President of SportAccord Ugur Erdener, former GAISF and SportAccord President Ivo Ferriani,  WADA President Witold Banka, ITA Director General Benjamin Cohen, World Olympian Association President Joel Bouzou, Special Olympics representatives, FISU President and Secretary General Leonz Eder and Eric Saintrond. The dinner was graced by special guests, including the host of the 2023 World Combat Games, HRH Prince Abdulaziz Alsaud, and the host of the 2018 SportAccord and UTS Festival, Supranee Guptasa. Additionally, the presence of youth Ambassador Harmony Rose Allen added a vibrant touch to the evening.

ARISF President Raffaele Chiulli and AIMS President Stephan Fox warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, emphasizing the importance of solidarity in sport. Their words resonated deeply, highlighting the pivotal role of unity and collaboration in advancing the shared goals of the global sporting community.

President Bach delivered a heartfelt speech on behalf of the IOC, underlining the significance of cooperation and collective action in navigating the challenges and opportunities facing the world of sports. His words echoed the sentiments of unity and solidarity expressed by Chiulli and Fox, reaffirming the commitment of the IOC to support and promote the values of fairness, inclusivity, and excellence in sports.
