Winterberg Confirmed as Host of the 2026 World Adventure Golf Masters

As a valued member of AIMS, the World Minigolf Sport Federation (WMF) continues to strengthen the global presence of minigolf, with Winterberg, Germany, confirmed as the host of the 2026 World Adventure Golf Masters (WAGM). Organized in collaboration with the Deutscher Minigolfsport Verband (DMV), the event will take place at Adventure Golf Winterberg and marks a significant milestone for the development of adventure golf.

WAGM is an annual international competition that brings together the world’s leading adventure golf players, competing in both individual and national team categories over three days. Since 2019, the addition of the mixed pairs division has contributed to the tournament’s increasing prestige and excitement. The 2024 edition was recently hosted in Brno, Czechia, while the 2025 WAGM will take place in Askim, Sweden. The selection of Winterberg as the 2026 host highlights the continuous expansion and growing influence of adventure golf worldwide.

Adventure Golf Winterberg is an 18-hole course, developed by CityGolf, and previously hosted the 2023 German Adventure Golf Masters, where Martin Lundell secured victory with a score of 167 over five rounds. With additional preparation and increased focus from national teams, expectations are high for even stronger performances at WAGM 2026.

Commenting on the announcement, WMF Media Chair Pat Sheridan emphasized the significance of this development, stating: “We are excited to have WAGM in Germany for the first time. The continued growth of adventure golf around the world is opening up new opportunities to host this prestigious event, and it is encouraging to see more communities engaging with international competition.” Achim Braungart Zink, Sport Manager for DMV, further highlighted the importance of this milestone, adding: “For the first time, Germany will host the World Adventure Golf Masters – the World Championships for Adventure Golf. We look forward to welcoming the world’s top players and will ensure a memorable experience for all participants.”

The 2026 World Adventure Golf Masters will serve as another important step in the evolution of adventure golf and a testament to its continued growth within the global sporting landscape.
