The President of Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko has awarded Dmitry Valent with the sports title of Honoured Master of Sport, which marks the outstanding achievement of Belarus muaythai under the leadership of the President of Belarus Muaythai Federation and Commander in Chief of Belarus Army, Yuri Karaev.
This title is truly deserved for Dmitry Valent in being multiple time Belarus Champion, IFMA World Champion, and FISU University Muaythai Cup Champion. This recognition is another step forward for Belarus muaythai, fully recognized by the NOC of Belarus and certainly for IFMA, as a great reason for pride in having such outstanding athletes under its umbrella and providing events under the patronage of the IOC.
The coach of the national team, Mikhail Stepanau congratulated Dmitry and his coach Yuri Varaks. Mikhail stated that it was a result of a three year worth of work; and that the gold medal at the Royal World Cup in Thailand highlighted his contribution into the promotion of Belarus image in the world of sport and let him receive this important title.
Mikhail further stated that – “We have to encourage our athletes to strive for excellence in life and sport, to promote fairplay and values and we hope that many of our other athletes will also shake the Belarus President’s hand receiving the highest awards”.
