We all love Taekwondo and “its art of the way.” The numerous achievements of World Taekwondo under the dynamic leadership of President Chungwon Choue has led to one of the most inclusive and accessible combat sports in the world. By combining the values of an ancient Asian heritage with the values of a global elite sport, Taekwondo is thriving.

A 22-member team from South Korea and the United States dazzled America’s Got Talent with a show-stopping acrobatic, action-packed audition in a mesmerizing show. The team delivered a flawless 3-minute audition defying all laws of gravity showcasing why Taekwondo is an Olympic Sport.

Judge, Simon Cowell stated: “I think what you did was one of the most extraordinary things I have seen in all these years I have been on America’s Got Talent.”

While the judges deliberated, host Terry Crews stated: “I am blown away. I am standing here up close and personal. This has been so exhilarating. I was watching human beings actually flying! This is a true Olympic performance. You were not able to make it to the Olympics to get your gold medal but I’m going to give you something golden right now.” Pushing the golden buzzer has fast tracked the young team to the live Quarter Finals of America’s Got Talent.

World Taekwondo and the Taekwondo Family go beyond being a martial art and combat sport. The Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation is giving back through many initiatives, projects and cooperation towards a better world through Taekwondo. The performance ended with the display of a banner stating, “Peace is more precious than triumph.” On behalf of United Through Sports, we share our respect and congratulate the entire team.
