The Sheffield 2025 Powerlifting Championships, also known as Sheffield 25, took place on January 26, 2025, at Sheffield City Hall in Sheffield, United Kingdom. This prestigious event, accredited by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), marked the third annual edition of the competition and featured some of the world’s strongest athletes competing in the classic powerlifting division. With the slogan “Records on the Line,” the event brought together 12 male and 12 female lifters across various weight categories to compete for top honors and the opportunity to set new world records.
Participation in Sheffield 25 was determined through a rigorous qualification process. The top-performing athletes from the 2024 IPF World Classic Championships earned their spots based on their total lift performance and percentage relative to world record totals. A maximum of 10 male and 10 female lifters were invited through this process, while an additional four wild card entries—two male and two female—were awarded to ensure a competitive and diverse field of participants.
Held at the historic Sheffield City Hall, the competition provided a platform for athletes to showcase their strength, skill, and determination. Each lift was met with anticipation, as competitors aimed to achieve personal bests and challenge existing world records. The event highlighted the dedication and preparation required to compete at the highest level of the sport.
