Leonz Eder unanimously elected FISU President at 38th General Assembly

In an unprecedented event at the 38th General Assembly, Leonz Eder was unanimously elected as the new President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). This historic rise to leadership has ignited a wave of optimism and anticipation within the university sports community.

Leonz Eder, a man of remarkable abilities and dedication, brings a wealth of experience to his new role as the President of FISU. Prior to his recent election, Eder served as the Vice President of FISU and has been an integral part of the organization for over a decade. Notably, during his tenure as the Managing Director of Swiss University Sports, Eder was instrumental in organizing several successful university sports events, setting a new benchmark for others to follow. His academic background is equally impressive, boasting a Doctorate in Sports Science from the prestigious University of Bern. Eder’s relentless passion for university sports, combined with his strategic approach and astute leadership skills, make him a fitting choice for this esteemed position.

AIMS sends a letter of congratulations to FISU. AIMS president outlined the importance of FISU as the heart of the university sports movement and that the FISU world university games are the largest global sporting event for student athletes.
