Kimberly Walford, IPF Assistant Secretary General Runs for WADA Athlete Council to Advocate for Clean Sport

Kimberly Walford, Assistant Secretary-General of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), is a candidate for the WADA Athlete Council. Representing an AIMS member federation, Kimberly brings extensive experience as an athlete, administrator, and advocate for clean sport.

Kimberly has a distinguished powerlifting career, earning multiple titles, including seven IPF Open World Classic Powerlifting Championships and three IPF Masters World Classic Powerlifting Championships. She has been inducted into the IPF Hall of Fame and received the 2023 North American Powerlifting Federation “Fair Play” Award for her dedication to fairness and integrity in sport.

Beyond competition, Kimberly has contributed significantly to athlete advocacy. As Secretary-General of the U.S. Virgin Islands Powerlifting Federation since 2019, she has worked as a coach, referee, and athlete representative. Her role as Chair of the IPF Entourage Committee demonstrates her commitment to creating a supportive environment for athletes.

“I believe that every athlete deserves a voice in decisions that impact their careers and the integrity of competition,” Kimberly says. “I want to contribute to the integrity and development of sports by working with fellow athletes on athlete-related anti-doping matters and concerns. Through this platform, I hope to advocate for fair policies and support initiatives that promote clean sport.”

With a background in public safety, criminology, and service as a U.S. Department of Justice Special Agent and a member of the U.S. Army National Guard, Kimberly brings a disciplined and strategic approach to her work. These skills position her to address challenges in anti-doping policy and ensure fair representation for athletes.

Kimberly’s candidacy reflects her commitment to fostering integrity and transparency in sport, making her a strong candidate for the WADA Athlete Council. As part of the AIMS family, the IPF is proud to support her bid to contribute to the global athlete community.
