Aikido is a non-violent, non-competitive martial art created in Japan in the 1920’s by Ueshiba Morihei. Aikido can be practiced by anyone regardless of origin, gender, or age, and it is established in over 130 countries. The ultimate goal of Aikido training is to improve one’s character according to the rules of nature.
The International Aikido Federation (IAF) was founded in 1976 and it currently hosts 56 national organizations which are all directly affiliated to the Aikido world headquarters in Japan.
