The ISTAF congress took place in the prestigious Al Meroz Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand where the world delegates came together to make important decisions.
The event was part of the 35th Sepaktakraw King’s Cup. Major General Charouck the President of ISTAF opened the event, thanking each and every one for participating and thanked them for all their solidarity during these challenging times.
The Secretary General Mr. Halim bin Kader gave a detailed report on the last 12 months with the success at the Sea Games and that the Sepaktakraw family has shown not only innovation and resilience in the times of the pandemic but also solidarity.
The GAISF Vice President and AIMS President Mr. Stephan Fox was the keynote speaker and made a presentation on the recognition process towards IOC recognition and the criteria points which need to be fulfilled in ISTAF’s future vision towards IOC recognition. The AIMS President congratulated the ISTAF family and all the members on their development but also reminded them that there is still work to do towards the recognition process but at the same time it is a continuous journey towards excellence.
Major General Charouck, who needs no introduction in the world of sport, was re-elected for a further term.
