AIMS, delivered a comprehensive presentation at the Africa International Sports Convention (CISA) on
its member federations and their significant role. AIMS President Stephan Fox detailed the application
process, highlighting the four recognized umbrella bodies: Association of Summer Olympic International
Federations (ASOIF), Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF),
Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF), and the Alliance of
Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS). He emphasized the significance of these umbrella
bodies and the stringent criteria new sports must meet to join the AIMS family and potentially gain IOC
recognition and inclusion in the Olympic Games.

Pathways to Olympic Glory: Fox illustrated this journey with nine sports that have earned recognition, three of which have secured spots in the Winter or Summer Olympic programs. His insightful presentation underscored AIMS’ commitment to fostering the growth and inclusion of sports within the Olympic framework.

Collaborative efforts with United Through Sports: AIMS once again collaborated with United Through Sports (UTS), where CEO Julia Govinden presented their joint initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion, equality, and non-discrimination. These efforts champion athletes of all abilities and are dedicated to fostering a better future.

The presentation hall was packed to the last seat, reflecting the high interest and engagement from
attendees. AIMS and UTS are eagerly looking ahead to future projects in the African region, dedicated to
supporting the development of athletes of all abilities and the advancement of sports.
