Forty five National Olympic Committees from Asia participated in the 43rd Bangkok OCA General Assembly chaired by the acting President, Raja Randhir Singh. Raja Randhir Singh described this event as one of the most important General Assemblies in the history of the continental Olympic body due to the major changes in the OCA Constitution.
The IOC President, Thomas Bach, also addressed this important gathering. The OCA unanimously approved a series of constitutional reforms which are in line with the Olympic Charter – the governing document for the global Olympic Movement.
Updates had been given on the preparation progress for the upcoming 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Bangkok-Chonburi, aswell as summer and winter editions of Asian Games in addition to many important side meetings that took place during the OCA General Assembly .
AIMS President, Stephan Fox, who was an observer at this General Assembly, thanked the OCA for the invitation and is looking forward to the continued cooperation of AIMS and the Olympic Council of Asia.
