The AIMS family is deeply saddened upon receiving the news of the passing of Maj. Gen. Charouck Arrirachakaran.

Maj. Gen. Charouck held significant roles in the world of sports, including Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, former Secretary General and Vice President of the Olympic Committee of Thailand, and President of the International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF). His life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to advancing sports, both on the national level within the Kingdom of Thailand and on the global stage across Asia. Notably, he played a foundational role in the establishment of AIMS and ISTAF, serving as the inaugural president of ISTAF from 1992 onwards.

AIMS President Stephan Fox, stated that, we all join the entire sporting world in mourning the passing of Maj. Gen. Charouck being one of the founding members of AIMS. He always stood for the sporting ideals of excellence, friendship and respect. He was an immense presence and his passing will not only be felt in the kingdom of Thailand but across the entire globe, particularly within the sport of Sepaktakraw and Asia. His instrumental 40 years involvement in the Olympic Council of Asia was invaluable.

The AIMS family extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of Maj. Gen. Charouck, as well as to his countless friends, colleagues worldwide, and fellow members of the Olympic movement.

In this time of mourning, ISTAF Secretary General Abdul Halim bin Kader paid tribute to the legacy left behind by Maj. Gen. Charouck Arrirachakaran.
