The Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS) is proud to announce a powerful new initiative from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) that aims to educate young athletes on the importance of clean sport. As dedicated partners in this mission, AIMS calls on all member federations to actively support and promote this initiative within their networks to foster a global culture of integrity in sport.
AIMS President Stephan Fox emphasized the organization’s commitment to empowering youth in sports, commenting, “By instilling these essential values in young athletes through anti-doping education, we are creating a foundation for a cleaner, more honorable sporting world. AIMS firmly believes that empowering youth today secures a cleaner, fairer playing field for tomorrow”.
About the New ADEL Resources
- ADEL for Youth Athletes Course: This interactive course, designed for athletes aged 11-15, introduces the principles of clean sport and equips young athletes with the knowledge and resilience to face challenges. Featuring insights from WADA’s Athlete Council members, each module encourages young athletes to champion a fair and positive sporting environment.
- Downloadable Resources: WADA has developed four essential resources covering key topics such as testing procedures, the Prohibited List, supplements, and the importance of speaking up. These materials are available offline, enabling learning anytime and anywhere, making them accessible to all athletes, parents, and support personnel.
As a dedicated partner, AIMS recognizes the importance of supporting WADA’s educational efforts across all stages of an athlete’s journey, from youth development to elite competition. AIMS encourages all federations to share these resources widely and incorporate them into their educational programs with young athletes and their support networks.
How to Engage:
- Accessing Resources: The ADEL course and resources are available in English, French, and Spanish. For translation requests, please contact the ADEL Helpdesk.
- Youth Account Setup: Athletes under the age of 16 should use a parent or guardian’s email address to create an ADEL account.
This initiative presents each AIMS federation with a unique opportunity to reinforce the principles of clean sport within their communities. By expanding the reach of these resources, member federations contribute directly to WADA and AIMS’ shared mission to uphold integrity and ethical competition in sports.
“AIMS is deeply committed to inspiring the next generation of athletes to value health, dedication, and the true spirit of competition,” Fox added. “Together, we are stronger. Together, we stand for clean sport”.
AIMS invites all federations to share this initiative with their athletes and Anti-Doping Commissions and to upload these resources to their websites, strengthening the clean sport message worldwide.
