AIMS congratulates the IPC on the inauguration of its new headquarters and the successful IPC Athletes’ Forum

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) marked a major milestone on 24 June 2025 with the official inauguration of its new headquarters known as the “IPC Campus” in Bonn, Germany. This purpose-built facility not only sets a benchmark for accessibility in the workplace, but also reflects the IPC’s steadfast commitment to advancing inclusion through sport on a global scale.

The inauguration ceremony welcomed 280 distinguished guests, including IPC President Andrew Parsons, CEO Dr Mike Peters, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia Hendrik Wüst, and Bonn’s Deputy Mayor Nicole Unterseh. Located on Dahlmannstraße 2, alongside the Rhine and in close proximity to the UN Campus, the IPC Campus is now recognised as one of the most accessible workspaces in Germany. It features a barrier-free auditorium, 157 inclusive workstations, six elevators, a tactile navigation system, including outdoor garden pathways and a custom-developed mobile app for indoor wayfinding.

Coinciding with the opening was the fourth edition of the IPC Athletes’ Forum, hosted across Bonn and Duisburg. More than 70 athlete representatives from over 50 countries participated, including delegates from National Paralympic Committees, International Federations, regional and international organisations for athletes with disabilities, and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). The Forum served as a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas and addressing key issues shaping the future of the Paralympic Movement.

The AIMS family extends its sincere congratulations to the IPC and President Andrew Parsons for this landmark achievement. The inauguration of the IPC Campus is not only an architectural accomplishment – it symbolises the IPC’s deep-rooted mission to promote dignity, empowerment, and equity through sport. From humble beginnings in Düsseldorf, the IPC has grown into a truly global organisation, now employing over 130 staff from nearly 50 countries.

AIMS applauds the IPC for its leadership and vision, and for continuing to set new standards in building a more inclusive and united sporting world.
