The AIMS family extends its warm congratulations to SportAccord on the successful conclusion of the International Federations (IF) Forum, held at the iconic Olympic Museum in Lausanne. AIMS also warmly welcomes Mr Kelly Fairweather as the new Managing Director of SportAccord.
This year’s IF Forum once again brought together leaders from across the Olympic Movement, creating a platform for constructive dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration. Under the theme “The New Global Reality in Sport: IFs in a World That Refuses to Stand Still,” more than 500 delegates — including International Federations, academics, industry experts, and key stakeholders — gathered to explore the evolving challenges and opportunities shaping the global sporting landscape.
SportAccord President Uğur Erdener announced Mr Fairweather’s appointment, highlighting his deep experience and strong relationships across international sport:
“Kelly brings significant expertise and a long-standing commitment to partnership with International Federations. We are confident his leadership will further strengthen SportAccord’s role as a vital unifying platform for the global sports community.”
AIMS President Stephan Fox extended congratulations on behalf of the AIMS family:
“AIMS looks forward to working closely with Kelly and the SportAccord leadership as we continue our shared mission of supporting International Federations, safeguarding the Olympic values, and ensuring that sport continues to inspire, educate, and connect communities around the world. SportAccord remains essential to cooperation, innovation, and solidarity within our movement.”
President Fox further acknowledged the dedication and resilience of the SportAccord Council under President Erdener, together with the entire SportAccord team:
“The SportAccord Council and staff have worked through challenging periods with vision, dedication, and unity. Their efforts ensure that SportAccord continues to evolve and strengthen, bringing the international sports community together in the spirit of progress and shared purpose.”
Preparations for SportAccord Baku 2026 are already progressing across key operational areas, setting the foundation for another landmark gathering of the world’s sporting leaders, host cities, and global partners — a celebration of unity, collaboration, and forward-looking development within sport.
