The AIMS family once again showed a strong presence at the IF Forum 2019 held in Lausanne from 28th – 30th November 2019.
Most of the federations, council members had been present and the topic could not have been a more needed one, “Athlete Centred Sport”
Many different strategies, ideas and programs were discussed and all participants are aligned when it comes to keeping the athletes’ interests at the core of daily work. Sports must all stand together with an investment towards the future with fights against doping, match-fixing and ensuring that the world’s athletes are clean which is the protection of the strict code of fair play.
AIMS family were strongly represented on the panel including the President of AIMS spoke about the protection of clean athletes, Sue Holloway from IDBF joined panel on Athlete’s Welfare and Mental health, Rebecca Mandefou from FISav touched on strengthening the athletes’ voice while her President, Dr Julie Gabriel spoke on safeguarding the athletes. Alwin Oberkersch, Athlete and Executive Board Member, from IFA joined the panel on the same topic.
The representation of the AIMS members especially the athletes showed the credibility AIMS has as an IOC and GAISF recognised umbrella body.
