AIMS & ARISF held Joint Council Meeting during SportAccord 2024 Convention

An historical meeting took place during the SportAccord Convention, with the first ARISF and AIMS joint council meeting. Since the inception of the new SportAccord, the AIMS and ARISF family have developed a stronger cooperation between the two IOC recognized umbrella organizations, towards mutual cooperation and towards the benefit of the individual sports.

President Chiulli stated the evident important role of both organizations in the Olympic pyramid for sports not recognized yet, to fulfil the SportAccord criteria and become AIMS members and then strive for IOC recognition and move to ARISF in this important elevator system.

President Fox further stated that the cooperation between AIMS, ARISF and certainly the IOC was apparent, with 6 AIMS members being recognized by the IOC in 2021 and now have moved into the ARISF family, and new included sports in the LA2028 program through this important elevator system.

One of the important topics of the joint meeting was the cooperation in fair play, the anti-doping cooperation with WADA and ITA, and a special meeting has been set up with the WADA and ITA leadership to discuss the next steps forward.

Many other ways of cooperation have been discussed, especially United Through Sports in which many of the ARISF members not only support but also actively participate in.
