AIMS President congratulates JJIF on a successful World Congress in Bangkok

The Ju-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF) successfully held its World Congress in Bangkok, in conjunction with the 2025 Ju-Jitsu World Championships, bringing together delegates from more than 80 nations to discuss the future of the sport.

The Congress addressed key areas of good governance, transparency, financial accountability, elections, and the empowerment of youth and women, reaffirming JJIF’s commitment to the highest standards of integrity, inclusion, and fair play.

AIMS President Stephan Fox commended the JJIF for its outstanding leadership and progress, particularly in areas of youth development, inclusion, safeguarding, and anti-doping, which are fully aligned with AIMS’ mission and the values of the Olympic Movement.

“Ju-Jitsu stands as a true role model for development, inclusion, and solidarity,” said President Fox. “Your continued investment in youth, your strong stance on integrity and athlete welfare, and your remarkable growth to over 130 member nations reflect the very essence of sport — one that unites, empowers, and protects.”

The Congress also highlighted JJIF’s global expansion, enhanced international cooperation, and its growing presence across multi-sport platforms, including participation in the Youth Games, Continental Games, and the integration of digital innovation to engage new generations of athletes and fans.

President Fox also extended his heartfelt congratulations to JJIF President Panagiotis Theodoropoulos on his election as First Vice President of AIMS, acknowledging his longstanding contribution to sport and to the wider international community.

“President Theodoropoulos has been instrumental in promoting sport as a force for peace, inclusion, and respect,” added Fox. “His election is a recognition of his integrity, leadership, and tireless dedication to the values we all share.”

As the 2025 Ju-Jitsu World Championships unfold in Bangkok, AIMS extends its warmest wishes to all athletes, officials, and teams — may these days be filled with friendship, excellence, and fair play.
