AIMS Invites Members to Join UN–IOC Workshop on Sport and Crime Prevention

AIMS is pleased to share an important opportunity for its members to engage in a high-level international webinar jointly organised by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

This upcoming event is part of the SC:ORE initiative (Sport against Crime: Outreach, Resilience, and Empowerment of at-risk youth), which aims to harness the power of sport as a tool for violence and crime prevention—especially among youth. The webinar will explore how the sport sector can meaningfully contribute to multi-sectoral partnerships that promote safety, inclusion, and empowerment.

Webinar Title:
Play Ball with the Sport Sector!
Sport Sector Engagement and Contribution in Multisectoral Partnerships for Violence and Crime Prevention

Date and Time:
Wednesday, 25 June 2025
15:00–17:00 CET

The session will bring together global experts and practitioners to exchange experiences and best practices in integrating sport into broader prevention strategies and policies. The event builds upon the UNODC–IOC joint policy guide, “Preventing Youth Crime and Violence through Sports.”

AIMS and United Through Sports President Mr Stephan Fox will join as one of the keynote speakers, sharing insights on the role of sport in building resilience and promoting positive change in the lives of youth around the world.

This webinar is open to all AIMS Members, and we strongly encourage participation across our international federations. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to and learn from global efforts to position sport as a catalyst for social transformation.

We look forward to your active involvement in this important discussion.
