For the Alliance of Independent Recognised Members of Sport (AIMS) and the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF), their united efforts reflect a shared mission: to elevate athletes and empower federations in their pursuit of excellence.

As the gateway to the Olympic Pyramid, AIMS guides emerging federations towards IOC recognition, ultimately paving the way for inclusion in the ARISF family. This journey offers federations a platform to achieve global stature and aspire to participation in the Olympic Summer or Winter Games, embedding them firmly within the global sports framework.

Both organisations are deeply committed to core values, placing athletes at the heart of every decision. Joint council meetings between IOC-recognised federations and AIMS members provide a unified platform to address challenges and explore solutions. A critical focus is ensuring integrity, fair play, and clean sport—values that remain non-negotiable for every federation.

Recognising the unique challenges faced by smaller federations, AIMS and ARISF have prioritised strategic partnerships with organisations such as WADA and ITA. These collaborations aim to equip federations with the tools and resources needed to uphold clean sport while managing the demands of their growth. Joint meetings with these bodies have already laid the groundwork for impactful initiatives that benefit all members.

Driving this vision are Raffaele Chiulli, President of ARISF, and Stephan Fox, President of AIMS. Together, they lead a coalition of over 60 international federations, demonstrating that collective strength is the catalyst for progress. “Collaboration among all members of the sporting family, recognised or not, is vital for growth and development,” Chiulli remarked. Fox added, “AIMS is an essential entry point to the Sporting Pyramid, and our partnership underscores the transformative power of unity.”
