SportAccord, the world’s largest global sports event organization, is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, and represents over 120 International Federations across both Olympic and non-Olympic sports. Its flagship event, the annual SportAccord Convention, is the most influential gathering in global sport, bringing together leaders from International Federations, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), host cities, rights holders, and key industry figures for networking, business discussions, and strategic partnerships.

Dr. Julie Gabriel, President of Savate and AIMS Vice President, highlighted the importance of SportAccord in building relationships with key partners like ITA and WADA. “SportAccord is where we gather, collaborate, and shape the future of sport,” she said. Similarly, Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, JJIF President and first AIMS Vice President, emphasized the vital role of SportAccord in JJIF’s development, offering a space for both networking and creating lasting friendships.
AIMS President Stephan Fox underscored the significance of SportAccord for every AIMS Member Federation. “It’s the place where the SportAccord executive makes decisions on new AIMS memberships. AIMS and IOC hold joint meetings here, offering potential sports and federations the opportunity to present themselves. Over the last decade, 10 new sports have gained IOC recognition.”
AIMS will hold its annual World Conference during SportAccord, where new AIMS candidates have the opportunity to present their sports and understand the criteria for recognition. During this conference, the IOC will also present the process for IOC recognition to AIMS members. Additionally, the UTS Conference will take place at SportAccord, along with several other exciting events planned for 2025.
For AIMS, SportAccord provides the perfect platform to showcase its mission to the global sports community, while giving individual members the chance to present their sports to a worldwide audience.
